MERCHANT'S NEST
Consumer Rights & EU Legal Guarantee
Consumer rights · Ireland & EU
Your consumer rights, clearly explained.
Merchant’s Nest Decor & Design Limited is an Irish trader. When you buy from us as a consumer, your mandatory rights under Irish consumer law and applicable EU consumer law remain fully protected.
Many of our wallpapers are produced specifically to your measurements, chosen design, crop, colourway or other approved specification. The statutory 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right generally does not apply to goods made to a consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised. This does not affect your rights where goods are faulty, damaged, misdescribed or otherwise do not conform to the contract.
Irish consumer rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, goods supplied to consumers must conform to the sales contract. Among other things, they must match the description and agreed specification, be fit for the purposes for which goods of that type are normally used, possess the quality and other features a consumer can reasonably expect, and meet any specific purpose accepted by the trader.
First 30 days
If goods do not conform to the contract, Irish law may give you a short-term right to terminate the contract and obtain a refund within the applicable 30-day period.
Repair or replacement
Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to have non-conforming goods repaired or replaced free of charge and without significant inconvenience.
Price reduction or refund
Where the legal conditions are met, including where repair or replacement is not available or does not resolve the issue, you may be entitled to an appropriate price reduction or termination and refund.
Your rights are statutory
A manufacturer’s warranty or other commercial guarantee is additional to your statutory rights and does not replace them.
EU legal guarantee
EU consumer rules provide a minimum two-year legal guarantee for consumer goods that are faulty or do not conform to the contract. The legal guarantee is against the seller and applies independently of any voluntary manufacturer or commercial warranty. National law can provide additional protection.

14-day right to cancel online purchases
For most standard, non-personalised goods bought online, consumers normally have 14 days from receipt of the goods to tell the trader that they wish to cancel, followed by the applicable return period.
Legal exceptions apply. In particular, the change-of-mind right generally does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. This is relevant to made-to-measure wallpaper produced to your wall dimensions or another individually approved specification.
Samples and colour
We strongly recommend ordering a wallpaper sample before approving a full made-to-measure order. Screens and lighting can affect colour perception, and a sample may show only part of a large-scale artwork. A sample is intended to help you assess colour, print quality and material in your own space before specification.
Incorrect measurements supplied to us
You are responsible for checking measurements and project information that you supply or approve. If a product is correctly produced to measurements or specifications you supplied, statutory fault remedies will not normally arise simply because those measurements were incorrect. We remain responsible where the product supplied does not match the specification correctly agreed with you.
Faulty, damaged or non-conforming goods
If you believe an item is faulty, damaged, misdescribed or does not match the agreed specification, contact us as soon as reasonably possible at info@merchants-nest.com. Please include your order number and photographs where relevant. Keep packaging and product/batch information where practical while we assess the issue.
Complaints
We aim to resolve consumer complaints directly and fairly. Email info@merchants-nest.com with your order number and a clear description of the issue. Consumers may also obtain independent information from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) and, for qualifying cross-border EU disputes, the European Consumer Centre Ireland.
